What you need to know about criminal justice architecture before you build
Project:   Webster County Detention Center

Location:   Dixon, Kentucky


The Webster County Detention Center project is a 152 bed addition / renovation to the present 36 bed jail in downtown Dixon , Kentucky .  With state of the art security components and control systems, the 32,500 square foot, single story, steel reinforced masonry and concrete structure provides the county with a secure and economical facility.

Confinement areas include isolation, detox, temporary secure holding and male and female dorms and cells comprised of minimum, medium and maximum security levels for a total inmate capacity of 195.  Other program and support areas include a laundry, vehicular sallyport, inmate visitation space, inmate medical room, multi-purpose room, outdoor recreation space, mechanical and electrical rooms, booking area, administrative offices, public lobby, waiting area and a secure control room. 

Mechanical and electrical systems include emergency smoke evacuation, heating, ventilating and cooling, emergency power, fire protection, electronic security controls, security cameras, camera monitoring, recording, intercommunication and inmate disturbance alarming.  All controlled and annunciated components and systems are integrated into the central control room operations system.

This project is scheduled for completion in May 2009.
