The new Franklin Family Court Facility is located in the historic State Journal Building in downtown Frankfort . The careful restoration of the exterior of the building along with the complete renovation of the interior of the structure provides approximately 10,000 square feet of area for family court functions. In addition to the family courtroom, the facility includes Judges Chambers, child and family waiting areas, public lobby and waiting areas, a hearing room, Court Designated Worker and Social Worker Offices, Secure Holding, Sheriff's Office and related public and support spaces. The facility was also made handicap accessible to the public.
